KALIBO, Aklan – What’s in store for 2023 Kalibo Ati-Atihan, dubbed as the Mother of All Philippine Festivals, that gives an amazing like experience for visitors and devotees?

The Ati-Atihan will again live up to its name in drawing in tens of thousands of both locals and tourists.

In January, the streets of Kalibo, Aklan will be transformed into a sea of Ati-Atihan colors. The Ati-Atihan celebration, a one of its kind festival in the country, will be filled also with good vibes and festival happenings for people of all ages.

With a promise to be bigger and better every year, celebrations of Kalibo Ati-Atihan include live entertainment, loud drum beats and cheerful street parades, and numerous food stalls and restaurants abound.

Apart from unique experience and unlimited memories, Ati-Atihan festival-goers will be treated with free-for-all street dancing and other revelries, day and night.   

Here’s a rundown of the bucket list of Kalibo Ati-Atihan festivities put together by the Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival Board.

Embrace the Color Fun Run on January 7, Ati-Atihan Traffic Jam 7 on January 7-8, Ati Bike Race on January 8, Balik-Patik Battle of Ati-Atihan Bands on January 9, Art Installations on January 9 and Ati-Atihan Pet Show on January 10 in the packed Kalibo Pastrana Park.

Come together to celebrate Sinaot sa Calle on January 10-11, Float Parade (January 11), Aklan Higante Contest and the star-studded lineups of Kapuso Night on January 12.

Watch the beauty and grace of young ladies as they compete for the prestigious Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-Atihan crown on January 10 at ABL Sports Complex.

Check out the eagerly awaited Viva Baile Zumba Fitness Party at Kalibo Magsaysay Park on January 8, Kalibo Ati-Atihan Product Expo on January 7-16, Garden Show and Ati-Atihan Bazaar on January 9-15.  

Spread over seven days, Ati-Atihan Nights from January 9 to 15 at Kalibo Magsaysay Park are always bursting with the country’s best rock and pop bands.

One of the popular activities is the renowned Kalibo Sadsad Ati-Atihan contest of 34 Ati-Atihan tribes and groups at 7:30 a.m. which is later followed by the blessing of tribes and pilgrims at 8:30 a.m. on January 14.

This festival also brings out the best individual modern tribal and make-your-own Pinoy Superhero costumes on January 14.

With the best-loved festival in Kalibo back in full swing, perhaps, it’s probably time to book and head to Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan festival this January.
