The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) of LGU-Kalibo, led by Mr. Terence June Toriano, conducts tactical drills to mark the official start of the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM).
A Vehicular Extrication Demonstration was done on July 19, 2022 in front of CityMall Kalibo to showcase the MDRRMO’s capacity to respond during emergency situations. An exhibit of the different rescue equipment and tactical gear was also set up for the public to learn about their uses and functions.
This year’s theme, “Sambayanang Pilipino, nagkakaisa tungo sa katatagan at maunlad na kinabukasan” seeks to advocate the unifying efforts of all sectors and communities toward resilience and sustainable development. Pursuant to the Executive Order No. 29 s. 2017, the annual observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month emphasizes the importance of building disaster resilience in covering the four thematic areas: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation, and recovery. The week-long activities will run from July 19, 2022 until July 23, 2022.
