Kalibo PNP finally fastens security preparations to ensure the safety of Kalibonhons during the celebration of the Sto. Niño Ati-atihan Festival starting this Friday, January 06, 2023.

In the committee meeting conducted by the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival Board (KAFEB), Police Major Jasson C. Belciña, Officer-in-charge of the Kalibo Municipal Police Station, expressed that the security measures for the upcoming festival are underway as the agency has strengthened its police force by requesting for augmentation forces from the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) and Police Regional Office (PRO) 6.

A simulation exercise (SIMEX) and communication exercises will be conducted to brief the police personnel assigned to their respective stations on the protocols and procedures in case of emergencies.

The deployment of police personnel in the festival zones and other places of convergence will be maximized throughout the week-long celebration to guarantee a peaceful celebration in the municipality.

Likewise, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) will mount a Social Service Station at the Kalibo Pastrana Park, which will serve as a breastfeeding station for mothers, an assistance desk for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWD), and report desk for instances of lost children in the said area for proper safekeeping.
