Carlito Marquez of the 1st District of Aklan announced on his Official Facebook page that House Bill 3002 known as the Kalibo Foundation Day Bill is now approved by the Committee on Local Government. Cong. Carlito Marquez authored House Bill 3002 which is an Act declaring November 3 of every year a special non-working holiday in the municipality of Kalibo in response to the resolution by the Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo led by Vice Mayor Cynthia dela Cruz, on its 88th Regular Session last May 10, 2021 requesting Congressman Carlito S. Marquez of the First District of Aklan to sponsor a house bill proposing the declaration of November 3 as a local holiday in Kalibo. The resolution was sponsored by SB Member Matt Guzman.November 3, 1571 was declared as Kalibo’s foundation day by virtue of Municipal Ordinance No. 2005-049 on October 6, 2005 and instituted the celebration of Kalibo Day every November 3.In a research output Calivo: The Founding of a Town,” commissioned by the Kalibo Council for Culture and the Arts (KCCA) of the Municipality of Kalibo, Dr. John E.
